'Jem And The Holograms' Release Date Kicks Off This Coming October 2015
Several months after the production started on the live-action adaptation of the "Jem and the Holograms," the awaited film has been slotted for official release by Universal Pictures.
According to Movie Pilot, Jem, which will reimagine the 1980s cartoon in modern times will hit the theaters on the Oct. 23, 2015. The cast includes Juliette Lewis as well as Aubrey Peeples as the leading character, Jem, who is a teenage orphan with an exceptional rockstar alter ego.
The plot of "Jem And The Holograms" revolves around the 1980's Hasbro cult classic with the same name. The unique combination of technology, music, fairytale, and art, the story reimagines Jem for the whole new generation with several themes of being true to who you are in hyperlinked and multitasking social media age. When Jem becomes an online recording artist, she along with her sisters embark on the music-driven hunt that sends them on an extraordinary adventure across Los Angeles for attempting to unlock the final message that was left by their father.
Some of the cast members are Hayley Kiyoko, Aurora Perrineau, Ryan Guzman, and Stefanie Scott. The film will be under the direction of Jon M. Chu, who is known for "G.I. Joe: Retaliation."
Based on the last report of The Inquistr, the film comes with plenty of scoop. The writer of the script is Ryan Landels, which follows Jem who utilizes a revolutionary technology to take on the rockstar's identity. It seems that the film is not different from the plot in its television series.
For all adults who are 30-something and prepared to relive their childhood during the 80s, you will definitely have lots of icons to embrace from the 80s. Even if the capabilities of the stars are still unknown in the film, both Juliette Lewis and Molly Ringwald will be part of this exciting live action film.
Currently, according to Inside Movies, it is still unknown who will play the nemeses of Jem, The Misfits or The Stringers, yet with some of the known cast members, "Jem And The Holograms" will surely rock out your world.
