Simpsons' 'Treehouse of Horror': Celebrates Its 25 Years with Spectacular Parodies from Classic Movies and Horror Genres
Halloween came early for the fans of "The Simpsons", which is the long-running animated comedy series of Fox. The series continue its "Treehouse of Horror". The creator of the series is Matt Groening and it premieres in 1989 and today, it is now on its 25th year of providing Halloween themed episode as part of the 26th season.
Typically, "The Simpsons' Treehouse of Horror" special features parodies from the horror genre and classic films. This year, the series' episode will pull from the cult film of 1971 titled "A Clockwork Orange" and "The Others", a 2001 horror thriller starred by Nicole Kidman.
The start of the annual special will let viewers or fans find Lisa and Bart transported in a demon-filled world after Bart reads some Aramaic symbols he found on his desk's underside. It will be up to Lisa to help them seek their way home, yet the mischief of Bart and lack of listening skills will make things tougher than they expected.
The viewers of "The Simpsons" will meet Dum, but it's actually Homer, yet he is a member of the gang of Moe in "Clockwork Orange". However, Moe's gang begins to fall apart when Dum met a girl who wants him to get rid the thug life.
International Business Times also suggested that fans should not miss the parody of "The Others." What others do not know is that "The Simpsons" appeared as the series of animated shorts in year 1987 before acquiring its own show in 1989. This was featured in a TV show "The Tracey Ullman Show" and was displayed much various visual portrayals of Marge, Homer, Lisa, Maggie, and Bart. The original drawings of this family reappear in the episode of "Treehouse of Horror XXV" to haunt the latest Simpsons as the family that was buried and murdered in the house.
According to Entertainment Weekly, the cast members are Nancy Cartwright, Dan Castellaneta, Julie Kavner, and Yeardley Smith which will summon the original voices of the characters.
For those who love spoilers, AVClub revealed some stray observations, which will surely give you a sneak peek on the latest season of this long-time animated comedy series.
