Microsoft Smart Watch 2014 Release Date: Surprising Facts
A few years ago when innovators claimed that watches will change the course of our future through technology, nobody really believed in what they had to say. Smartphones and Android were the biggest things, and it seems like smart watches are raining from the sky. Samsung has already introduced its options and so has Motorola. Apple is soon unveiling its new watch in 2015 and now there are reports of Microsoft launching something in just a few days.
Although the rumors of Microsoft SmartWatch surfaced through Forbes months ago, it was until now that people had anything concrete on design and features. Apparently, it is coming on market for sale by the end of November and will be compatible with most of Windows devices including computers, tablets, and smartphones. CEO Satya Nadella is pretty excited with company's first announcement after he has taken the chair, especially with features like heart rate count, touch screen, built-in speakers, microphones and much more. Cortana and Windows operating system will be the highlights for this Microsoft watch.
It is believed that smartwatch market is still untapped and has huge potential to grow in the coming years with expectations of it growing to an enormous $7.1 billion by next year. Apple already understands it and has introduced different models that are due for sale in less than three months or so. In fact, experts believe that wearable technology is rather the future, which will soon take over the smartphones and tablets in a huge way. These smartwatches promise luxury, fashion, health, and convenience. People already like to carry everything where they go, and with payment systems such as 'Apple Pay', it becomes easier.
According to Business Insider, Microsoft is simply planning to compete with Android watches and will probably set a price for that only. A majority of Android watches are available from $200 to $300 and Microsoft will be keen to introduce their device in this category only. Of course, once they believe that the smartwatches are popular, something like Kinect for the Xbox 360, the makers will look into competing with Apple for premium edition watches.
