Android 5.0 Lollipop for Sony Xperia Z2: Sony Confirms the Sweet Android Update to Xperia Z Series
Sony has revealed their plans about the latest update of the popular mobile operating system of Google. Sony confirmed that Sony Xperia Z2 will get Android 5.0 Lollipop update, which will be released early 2015 followed after by some of the members of Z2 series.
Even if the Android 5.0 Lollipop will roll out for the first supported devices, it looks like the Japanese giant needs more time optimizing the new firmware for its devices. The latest update for Sony Xperia Z2 is said to be rolled out in phases according to Android Geeks. The unlocked Xperia Z2 series will be the first one to get the new update.
Luckily, Sony Xperia Z2 won't be the only member of Z2 series to get the new update. Sony has also announced that they will also bring Android 5.0 Lollipop firmware to Sony Xperia Z2 tablet, yet the company hasn't mentioned the official release of the new update for the tablet.
The Inquirer uncovered the full list of devices that will get the latest Android update and these include Xperia Z, Xperia ZR, Xperia ZL, Xperia Z3 tablet, Xperia Z3, Xperia Z2 tablet, Xperia Z2, Xperia Z1 Compact, Xperia Z Ultra, Xperia Z1S, Xperia Z1, and Xperia tablet Z.
In the official blog post of Sony, the Japanese giant stated that they are working hard to bring the major update to most of their Z series devices as quickly as they can.
According to Android Origin, there are still no details regarding about what the latest update from Sony will contain other than the announced features of Lollipop. There are cases that OEMs disable some features in firmware. But, users of Xperia devices can guarantee that they will enjoy all features of Android 5.0 Lollipop. The battery saver feature of the update is something that people do not expect Sony to include in the firmware as this might have a conflict with the battery management tweaks of Sony. The updated camera app on Lollipop will not be also available to the firmware of Sony as it has its own camera app.
Android 5.0 Lollipop is considered as the biggest update of Android, which arrives with a whole new design language that will definitely take your breath away.
