"Frank's rapid ascension to the heights of power means big changes for both him and Claire, but his sudden rise creates powerful enemies and the increasing chance that his dark secrets will be exposed," says Netflix of season 2. "There is but one rule: Hunt or be hunted." Without spoiling anything if you haven't watched yet, the first episode of Season 2 is jaw-dropping.
Netflix recently announced that "House of Cards" has been renewed for a third season. A release date hasn't been set, but we would expect it to drop around this same time in 2015.
The popular Netflix series about the corrupted side of government will pick up with Frank Underwood (Kevin Spacey) having masterfully maneuvered his way into the Vice Presidency, with many people not happy about it. Investigative reporter Zoe Barnes (Kate Mara) is inching closer to the truth about Frank and Peter Russo (Corey Stoll) and will stop at nothing to break the story. Frank's wife Claire (Robin Wright), the newly appointed Second Lady, must deal with the bright glare of the spotlight and how the intense scrutiny eats away at their once private existence.
"House of Cards" is Netflix's first original series and received some nice validation with it's recent Emmy nomination for "Outstanding Drama Series". This was the first time a program from only a digital platform received a high-profile Emmy nomination.
