"Moana" Release Date: It's 2016; Not 2018
The newest Disney princess "Moana" will be in theaters in 2016. After the overwhelming success of "Frozen" and in response to the fans' request for a more ethnic princess, Disney Productions has fast-tracked work to complete the project earlier than its target release date. AV Club initially reported that "Moana" was originally scheduled in 2018; however, due to the sped-up work, it will now be expected in two years.
Aside from its early release date, Disney finally has unveiled an excerpt of the movie. "Moana" is completely CG-animated, but its painting-like appeal depicts a luscious green landscape which could make an audience more interactive. This movie's artists were able to develop a unique style which can capture the wonders of sun-drenched islands, south seas and feeling of antiquity.
"Moana" will be set in Oceana, 200 years ago. The story, according to Variety, will be about this heroine's journey of finding a fabled island in her quest to fulfill a family obligation. She will work with Maui, a demi-god. On this journey, she will encounter varied undersea adventures which will include special interpretations of folk tales. As Disney's first ever Polynesian princess, Moana Waialiki must bring her own magic into the big screen.
This animated movie will be directed by John Musker and Ron Clements, the well-applauded creative brains responsible for "The Princess and the Frog," "The Little Mermaid" and "Aladdin". They have got experience with strong heroines and ocean-inspired movies. John Musker said that "Moana" is one of the most engaging characters he's ever brought to life with a deep connection to the ocean world.
The movie will be a musical animation, which score was put on the capable shoulders of Mark Mancina, the man responsible for the tracks used in "Brother Bear," Tarzan" and "The Lion King."
Can Disney still create a movie soundtrack as successful as "Let It Go?" On Nov. 23, 2016, children and adults alike will have a brand new song to live-by. Two years might be long, but we're happier that it's not four- it would have been too late by then.
"Moana," the next household character will be in theaters, not in 2018, but in 2016.
