'Insidious Chapter 3' Trailer Released: Features Elise Rainier's Back Story; Whannel Directs, Writes New Prequel
Just in time for the Trick or Treat Season, the spooky and haunting horror movie has recently released its upcoming film's first teaser. Focus Features has launched "Insidious Chapter 3" trailer in Facebook two days ago, Movie Web reported.
The two-minute trailer showed some terrifying clips from the upcoming third installment of the film franchise that is known for low-budget production cost and hit box office collection. "Insidious Chapter 3," set before the occurrence of the two previous installments, will feature the story of the psychic and ghost fighter Elise Rainier.
Lin Shayne's character has shown her ability to rebuke evil spirits in the last two "Insidious" films. In this upcoming film, the cult legend with supernatural skills will be able to explain her first encounter with the evil and bad spirits.
Base on the trailer and the released synopsis of "Insidious 3," Rainier appears to be unwilling to use and explore her powers at first. But after a teenage girl was threatened by a dangerous evil entity, the psychic was forced to help and stop the supernatural spirit. She does this through speaking to the dead that can bring an end to the disturbing evil spirit.
Focus producers have also release new behind-the-scene pictures from the "Insidious Chapter 3" set. The images showed the upcoming and anticipated horror flick's actors and crew as they shoot the new chapter of the film franchise.
The photos also showed how the Insidious's actor, Leigh Whannel, works on "Insidious Chapter 3" that will be his directorial debut. Whannel, who will also play as Rainier's assistant, was chosen as the new director for the terrifying new chapter of the movie, Screen Rant reported. It can be recalled that James Wan directed the first two Insidious movies.
Whannel, who also wrote the movie's screenplay, is shown working closely with Stefanie Scott, who will play as the teenage-girl that will be threatened by the supernatural entity from "The Further." Jennifer Spence, producer and designer of "Insidious 2," will also return for the upcoming horror movie.
"Insidious Chapter 3," slated for release on May 29, 2015, will also star Dermot Mulroney, Stefanie Scott, Lin Shaye, Hayley Kiyoko, Leigh Whannell, Michael Reid MacKay, Angus Sampson, and Ele Keats.
