True Detective Season 2 News and Rumors: Farell and Vaughn Confirmed! Female Lead Still on the Lookout
The second season of the critically acclaimed TV series had lots of rumors milling down lately. From who the lead cast would consist of and if who would get the role of the female lead. Well, turns out, some questions will remain unanswered while some were finally confirmed.
True detective season 2 would consist of new actors, following the first season's Woody Harrelson and Matthew McConaughey as leads, and this time, and it would be Vince Vaughn and Colin Farrell since they were still the ones who were confirmed by HBO according to Deadlinewith the official logline: "Three police officers and a career criminal must navigate a web of conspiracy in the aftermath of a murder."
One of the three cops would be Farrell as Ray Velcoro, a compromised detective torn between his allegiance with a corrupt police department and a mobster while Vaughn plays the career criminal Frank Semyon. Another police officer with an unconfirmed actor is also going to be in the scene as Paul Woodrugh and a female lead named Ani Bezzerides.
True Detective's season 2 character Paul Woodrugh was rumored that actor Taylor Kitsch will play the part, in which according to an interview with Access Hollywood from True Detective Rumors, he says "It would be nice, wouldn't it? Yeah. So we'll know in a couple days," - perhaps he would, or not - we'll know in the near future.
Another True Detective Season 2 news would be about who will be playing the female lead. The search continues with possible actress and to name a few: Rosario Dawson, Jessica Biel, Jamie Alexander, Oona Chaplin and the most mentioned one, Rachel McAdams who appears to have some scheduling conflict with another movie.
HBO also confirms that the first 2 episodes of the True Detective season 2 TV series would be directed by Justin Lin.
True detective Season 2 is expected to air on HBO this summer of 2015.
