Dracula Untold Kicks off with a Strong Start Bringing in a Profitable Early Worldwide Opening
Vlad the Impaler, in the guise of Luke Evans, proves to all that vampires still rule and that not all movie should have big names to rake in big numbers.
According to Hollywood Reporter, Dracula Untold managed to sink its teeth on $86.1 million in total of box office receipts as of this weekend. The retelling of the world famous vampire by Universal and Legendary Pictures garnered around an $33.9 million in the international markets while still going strong is the Hispanic markets and Russia.
Dracula Untold is reported to have cost around $70 million and stars Luke Evans as the infamous Vlad the Impaler, known to all as Count Dracula. The horror movie retells the story of how Vlad began the vampire he is known to be. This also marks the first movie directed by Gary Shore and it is produced by Michael De Luca.
Technology Tell and Screen Rant lauded Luke Evan's performance making it one of Dracula Untold's strengths. Thanks to his background in theater, Even showed his capability of taking on the spotlight with grace and dignity proving that he can create a perfect "blend" of hero and villain, giving the character justice that many are clamoring for and has proven himself as a great actor. Luke Evans has been noted for his previous roles in Clash of the Titans, Tamara Drewe and The Three Musketeers.
