Samsung Chromebook 2 Specs, Pros, Cons and Updates: Cheap But Sturdy Laptops for the Casual User is Chromebook 2's Motto
Cheap yet decent laptops keep on rising from nowhere making the technological market wider and thus catering to a much wider audience. Chromebook is one of those who fall into that category.
PCWorld's Melissa Riofrio reports that the Samsung Chromebook 2 is the newest addition to the company's Chromebook line.
Samsung Chromebook 2 sports the Celeron N2840 ARM processor, 16 GB of on-board storage and holds a 802.11 ac WiFi. It also sports a USB 2.0, HDMU and microSD ports on the left alongside with the power jack while the right holds its headphone jack and USB 3.0 port. It also has a decent battery life of up to 9 hours - just an additional one hour from the last.
One downside of the previous Samsung Chromebook is that it is not that sturdy. David Ng, Samsung's product manager admits that they "needed to make the device more durable" especially for schools. That is why Samsung Chromebook 2 has been made to be sturdier.
To wrap the product up, Samsung Chromebook 2 is covered with a handsome yet discreet silver stitched-leather lid giving it a sleek, elegant look that can rival any high-end model. An improvement done on Samsung Chromebook 2 is that its keys are comfortable and are not shrunken like the previous Samsung Chromebook. They are made out of hard plastic but are dimpled enough to give users ease in typing.
There is also a downside in the Samsung Chromebook 2 - it is fanless. Also, its display is only 11.6 inches and can support up to a 1366 x 768 pixel display with a very limited display angle.
Though Samsung Chromebook 2 is efficient for many, those seeking for a powerful laptop should steer away from it as it was intended for casual users.
