JK Rowling News and Updates: Rowling To Release a story about Prof Dolores Umbridge via Pottermore this October 31; Plus Rowling to Write The Screenplay for a Movie Trilogy
Fans of the highly successful Harry Potter Novel franchise is in for a Halloween treat! The famous author, JK Rowling will release a new Potter story come October 31 via the website Pottermore.
The story will dwell on Harry Potter's arch nemesis, Professor Dolores Umbridge, and will consists of 1700 words.
In a statement in the Pottermore website, "Umbridge is not only one of the most malicious Potter characters, she is the only person other than Lord Voldemort to leave a permanent physical scar on Harry," said a statement on Pottermore.
"The new exclusive JK Rowling content provides a rich, 1700-word back story about Umbridge's life filled with many new details, as well as Rowling's revealing first-person thoughts and reflections about the character."
If you could remember, Prof. Umbridge was played by Imelda Staunton in two Harry Potter movies where she abused most of the students with her cruel punishments.
This latest story follows the two other works by JK Rowling, one is Harry's adventure at the age of 33 and the other one is a back story of Celestina Warbeck, a Welsh born "singing sorceress".
The upcoming movie, Fantastic Beasts And Where To Find Them, which will be shown sometime in 2016, will also be written for the big screen by JK Rowling, according to Sunday Morning Herald.
The movie is said to be based on a Hogwarts textbook that was written by "magizoologist" Newt Scamander and is sort of a prequel 70 years before Harry enrolls in Hogwarts. The movie is said to be the first in a trilogy series.
