Kari Jobe and Cody Carnes Are Married
November 21, 2014 marks the day when worship leader and songwriter Kari Jobe weds her long time boyfriend and fellow worship leader Cody Carnes. After months of being engaged, now the "Majestic" singer is finally married.
Writing on Twitter, Jobe can't hide her excitedness: "I'm getting married today I'm getting married today I'm getting married today I'm getting married today I'm getting married today!!!!!!!!"
Congratulations are already flooding in. Christian hip hop artist Tedashii writes, "@karijobe congrats sis! God bless you guys." Similiarly author and artist Sheila Walsh offers her well wishes: "@karijobe SO SO happy for you!!! xxx"
"The wedding festivities have begun!!! What an amazing night with all these sweet girls! @karijobeyou're getting married!!! Ahhhhhh! #CARNES2014" wrote singer Blanca Callahan.
.Just about a month ago, Jobe shared some pictures of her bridal shower to Facebook. "Tonight our @gatewayworship family threw us a wedding shower. Sweet night!! My heart was so happy and thankful. And my man @codycarnes looked so handsome! I love this season."
Previously she posted an excited picture that read "I get married 1 month from today!!!" several times followed by "Married! In 1 month! This is getting real! I can't believe it! I might be a little excited! Just a little! Well more than a little! AAAHHHHHHHHHH."
Jobe announced her engagement back in August with a series of pictures and social media updates.
Kari Jobe was born in Waco, Texas to parents Mark Douglas and Caroline "Sandy" (née Bragg) Jobe and was raised in Watauga, Texas and Hurst, Texas. She has two siblings, Kristen and Caleb. Jobe first began singing at the age of three, and became a Christian at the age of five. As she grew older, she attended Oral Roberts University, Christ for the Nations Institute and Dallas Baptist University and obtained her degree in pastoral studies and psychology.
After graduation, Jobe was asked to work as an associate worship pastor for Gateway Church in Southlake, Texas, Jobe's church of six years, which she accepted. She works alongside her father, Mark, in the church and has traveled internationally on mission trips to lead worship. Jobe is also a member of Gateway Worship, a Christian worship band associated with Gateway Church. Their live album, Wake Up the World, debuted at No. 2 on Billboard's Christian Albums chart in 2008.
Aside from being a worship leader and pastor, Jobe released her first major-label self-titled debut album in February 2009 by Integrity Music/Columbia Records/Gateway Create. On March 25, 2014, Jobe released her solo live worship album "Majestic." The album was preceded by its first single, "Forever", on February 18.
