Peter Furler Band 'Sun and Shield' Album Release March 11th, OUT NOW (VIDEO)
Peter Furler, known to many as the voice of the Newsboys for many years, has released his new album Sun and Shield under the Peter Furler Band yesterday (March 11). Furler released his first solo studio album On Fire in June of 2011 and now nearly three years later his sophomore album Sun & Shield is out featuring 10 new tracks (see full tracklist below).
The new album sees Furler teaming up with longtime producer/lyricist Steve Taylor for the first time since Newsboys' gold-certified 'Adoration' album. The Peter Furler band is made up of Dave Ghazarian (Superchick, Audio Adrenaline) on bass and Jeff Irizarry on drums. Both are longtime friends and have been touring with different bands together for many years. Irizarry has been playing with Furler since he began his solo career.
Furler is the writer behind 27 Number 1 radio singles and 22 years as the main creative force behind Newsboys and now is carving out a new circle in the Christian music industry with his new solo material. His latest release Sun and Shield combines an ambitious collection of new songs with a more muscular, band-driven sound that harkens back to the glory days of 'Take Me To Your Leader'.
Peter Furler Band will be touring with Third Day, Skillet, Brandon Heath, Mandisa and We As Human in March. For more information, check out Peter's official website HERE.
