Robert H. Schuller's Celebration of Life Service Cancelled

A "celebration of life service" for the late Robert H. Schuller has been canceled. An announcement on the "Hour of Power" website stated that the event has been canceled "in the spirit of unity," encouraging everyone to attend the April 20 public memorial service at Christ Cathedral Plaza in Garden Grove.
Crystal Cathedral Ministries have also announced that while the service was in the planning stages and scheduled for April 30, it now "will not be happening."
Initially a celebration of life service for the Rev. Robert H. Schuller is planned for 4 p.m. April 30 at the Christ Cathedral's Arboretum in Garden Grove. This public event is separate from the funeral service, which has been scheduled for 10 a.m. April 20, also at Christ Cathedral. Schuller will be buried next to his wife, Arvella, at the Christ Cathedral Memorial Gardens following the April 20 service. Now the celebration service is cancelled.
Schuller, founder of the Crystal Cathedral and the "Hour of Power" television program, died on April 2 after battling esophageal cancer. He was 88.
