New Gospel Artists Janice Gaines Releases "Greatest Life Ever"

Now arises a fresh new voice, Janice Gaines. Her debut release, coming on October 2, Greatest Life Ever, is a collection of irresistible songs featuring world-class production from multiple Grammy Award-winning Lashawn Daniels. Lashawn, producer of a long list of contemporary music royalty, was drawn to Janice's captivating vocals and, ultimately, they combined to create what is sure to be one of this year's most important releases. Janice recently collaborated with R&B star KEM performing a duet on last year's highly successful Motown Christmas release. Key tracks include "The Break-Up Song" (featuring Eric Dawkins), "Make A Way" & "Wait On You".
Born in St. Louis and raised in Memphis, Gaines comes by her musical dichotomy naturally. Influenced early on by versatile gospel-bred singers like Whitney Houston, Aretha Franklin, Patti LaBelle and Gladys Knight, Gaines performed her first solo in church at age 12 and has since never looked back. After starting a girl group with friends in high school and performing in a professional gospel choir, Gaines attended Oberlin College in Ohio, where she kept her hand in music (singing background for Howard Hewett) while pursuing a degree in economics.
Immediately thereafter, she attended Ohio's Ashland Theological Seminary and earned a second degree, Master of Divinity. Post-graduation, she moved to New York and began teaching seventh grade math in the Bronx. But when a friend asked her to read a first draft of a beginner's guide to the gospel music industry, Gaines rediscovered her true calling and began pursuing her career in Gospel Music, signing to Motown Gospel in 2014.
"There is a purity and honesty to the voice and vocal tone of Janice Gaines that's amazing. Once it's connected to a song, the song goes to an entirely new level of heart! I welcome the voice of Janice Gaines."
- Donald Lawrence Grammy Award-winning producer/songwriter
"One of Motown Gospel's newest signees and perhaps their hidden wildcard, Janice has it all. With poise, beauty, a humble spirit, and not to forget a captivating voice, it's a recipe for success! And it doesn't hurt having Grammy winning producer, LaShawn Daniels, at the helm of her first release." - Essence Magazine Online (article:http://bit.ly/1F9v8Cz)
