Fall is often a season where there's an avalanche of new Christian music releases. This year, it's no different. The line of artists on the Fall tally this year includes Hillsong Worship, Darlene Zschech, Cindy Cruse Ratcliff, and Sara Groves.
October 16 will get fans of Hillsong Worship out in droves as they eager anticipate Hillsong Worship's new live album Open Heaven/River Wild. Featuring Reuben Morgan, Joel Houston, Ben Fielding, Hillsong UNITED, this album is choke full of future worship classics. Known as the "Queen of Gospel Song Writers", and as the "Mother of modern congregational singing in America", Fanny Crosby is one of America's best witers of hymns from the 19th Century. With most American hymnals containing her work, with the possible exception of Isaac Watts and Charles Wesley, Crosby has generally been represented by the largest number of hymns of any writer of the twentieth century in nonliturgical hymnals Her gospel songs were paradigmatic of all revival music, and Ira Sankey attributed the success of the Moody and Sankey evangelical campaigns largely to Crosby's hymns.
On October 10th, Integrity Music will pay tribute to Crosby as artists such as Darlene Zschech, Paul Baloche, Ricky Skaggs, Blind Boys of Alabama, Michael W. Smith and others will offer new renditions of Crosby's hymns. So keep your eyes out for Blessed Assurance: The New Hymns of Fanny Crosby.
Coming on October 23 is the worship leader of the largest church in the US. Worship leader of Joel Osteen's church, Cindy Cruse Ratcliff returns with her Dream Worship album Edge of Heaven. This is the follow up to her highly successful album, Heaving Raining Down. It is an amazing worship project recorded LIVE at Lakewood Church in Houston, Texas and produced by David Hanley. The album is a unique mix of pop, rock and worship that create an album expressing the faithfulness of God and the promises He has made to His children. Cindy's powerful, one of a kind delivery, energizes these songs filled with heart-felt lyrics and explosive melodies that will charge your atmosphere!
Later in the year, singer and songwriter Sara Groves returns with Floodplains. Her deeply insightful, authentic lyrics and gorgeous vocals make Sara Groves a perennial favorite---and fans will rejoice to discover the singer/songwriter's new meditation on drawing fresh water from our desert experiences. Features "Enough," "I Feel the Love," "Lost Time," "My Dream," "Native Tongue," "On Your Mark," "Second Guess," "Signal," "The Blessed Life," "This Cup," "Your Reality," and the title track.
