Flyleaf's Lacey Sturm's New Single "Impossible" Gives Hope to the Hopeless (Listen)
Former frontlady of Christian rock group Flyleaf Lacey Sturm will return with her independent solo debut on Jnuary 29th, 2016. The album entitled "Life Screams" allows fans can finally hear the first new solo music and her new direction in music. Leading the way into this new adventure is Sturm's new single "Impossible."
"Impossible" has already soared to the Top 5 of the iTunes Rock Top Songs, reaching No. 2 today (Nov. 9). Sturm talks about how the song came about: "I was listening to the radio one day and I said to myself, 'If I hear one more song telling people to kill themselves and go to hell, I'm going to have to put a record out!'" exclaims Lacey. "I just think it would be a good thing to have a voice in the mix of all the hopelessness that actually gives you a light at the end of the tunnel; a voice that's still honest about the pain and struggle, but can also scream, 'Hey, wake up and be alive because there's hope!'"
Sturm adds, "I really started to value my relationships and the people around me. We started as a group of artists in our hometown of Pittsburgh and Life Screams was kind of an accident."
The lyrics come from a grateful and appreciative mindset as Sturm is thankful for the life she has been able to live. The vocalist has previously stated that starting a family, along with dealing with the death of the band's sound engineer, were two key factors in deciding to leave Flyleaf.
In a post shared on the singer's Instagram page, she expressed, "I still have a fire in me to be a voice of love to people who feel unloved... For me, today is the beginning of new ways to live the impossible, and I have so much faith, hope and love in my soul."
"And I want to know how you are #livingtheimpossible. Write 'Living The Impossible' on your arm, snap a pic for Instagram and share your story with me.. Use the #livingtheimpossible. I can't wait to read them."
