Lindsey Stirling's "Hallelujah" is at #3 on Billboard Hot Christian Songs Chart

In an effort to spread the message of Christmas, violinist and Christian Lindsey Stirling has released a cover of Jeff Buckley's "Hallelujah." The song is an instant hit. This week, it is on Billboard's Hot Christian Songs chart at #3 trailing behind Jordan Smith's "Mary Did You Know" (at #1) and Smith's own version of "Hallelujah" (at #2).
Most noteworthy is Stirling's video. In the video, Lindsey dresses up and plays in a subway station, where she is largely unrecognized, while the rest of the video shows great opportunities she has had to serve while on tour. At the end of the video, she said making the video reminded her of a time when no one saw the beauty in here and how she came to learn Christ always saw it. It reminds us all of the true spirit of Christmas. Watch the full video below.
On a more personal note, Stirling's dad Stephen J. Stirling, who is an author, has cancer. He has just started cancer treatments, please remember him in your prayers.
Though Stirling is a violinist, she has performed a variety of music styles, from classical to pop and rock to electronic dance music. Aside from original work, her discography contains covers of songs by other musicians and various soundtracks. Her music video, "Crystallize" finished as the eighth-most watched video of 2012,and her cover version of Radioactive with Pentatonix won Response of the Year in the firstYouTube Music Awards in 2013.Stirling achieved one million singles sold worldwide by August of 2014. As of April 2015, her Lindseystomp YouTube channel exceeded 7 million subscribers and over a billion total view
