5 Christians Albums Turning 10 Years-Old in 2016
2016 is only a few days away. A new year often makes us reflect and give thanks to God for the past. As we look at the past, you wouldn't have guessed that in 2016, these 5 Christian music albums are all turning 10 years old!
5. "Rise" by Building 429
"Rise" is the fourth album by Christian rock band Building 429, which was released in 2006 by Word Records. It is also the band's second full-length recording on a major label. Radio singles from this album include "Searching for a Savior," "Fearless," "I Belong to You" and "I Believe."
4. "Postcards" by Cindy Morgan
"Postcards" was Morgan's first album for Reunion Records. This album with its pop-country-acoustic flavoring hints at Morgan's future direction. The title cut "Postcards" is easily one of Morgan's best compositions.
3. "B Collision" by David Crowder Band
Can you imagine David Crowder Band doing Loretta Lynn? We can't either. But they did a terrific job with Lynn's "Everyone Wants to Go to Heaven." As unusual as Lynn's cover was, so was the EP's title, as well as the songs. An unforgetable classic turns 10 in 2016.
2. "Between the Dreaming and the Coming True" by Bebo Norman
Known for its picturesque lyrics and its theological depths, fans of Bebo Norman would have agreed that his "Between the Dreaming and the Coming True" is a marquee album. This is the fifth studio album by Christian Contemporary-Folk-Pop-Rock musician Bebo Norman. The album is the fourth with Essential Records, and his sixth album overall including his first independent release.
1. "Mighty to Save" by Hillsong Worship
Many churches are still singing to "At the Cross" and "Mighty to Save," but come July 2016, the album is already 10 years old. Featuring worship leaders such as Darlene Zschech, Brooke Fraser, Marty Sampson, Reuben Morgan and Joel Houston, this album also won for the Australian megachurch a Dove GMA Award.
