For Latice, the road to walk in her blessing has not always been apparent. Suffering from social anxiety disorder as a youth, Latice shied away from people and places. Taking a leap of faith one choice day in 2009, God began to use her voice to heal her condition as she stepped off the plane in Atlanta to audition for BET's gospel competition series Sunday Best. As Latice recalls, "I could hear God saying, you can choose what I'm giving you to do, or choose what you want to do." Over the course of the series, Latice wowed the judges, most notably with her rendition of the James Cleveland classic, "Peace Be Still." The result - Latice became a top three finalist during the second season of the series and doors to walk further in her calling began to open.
Latice's music ministry continued after the TV series to include an additional reality show, "Almost Married", as well as releasing her debut self-titled album. Writing seven of the ten songs on the project, Latice's desire was to connect with people through relatable experiences. She collaborated with producers Bruce Robinson (Britney Spears, Ron Isley, Justin Bieber) and Denarius "Motesart" Motes (Celine Dion, Nelly Furtado).
Latice's album peaked at #12 on the Billboard Gospel Albums Chart and #21 on the Billboard Heatseekers Albums Chart. In addition, her "There" single, from the debut album, reached #17 on the Billboard Gospel Airplay Chart and #18 on the Billboard Hot Gospel Songs Chart.
Latice's musical journey continues in 2015 with the release of the feel-good song of the summer "Look At Yourself Again", the first single from her upcoming project Diary of a Church Girl. Prepared to give back and share her gift with the masses, she aims for her next projects in music and film to touch the hearts of believers and non-believers alike. "It's not about religion, it's about the relationship."
Passionate and purposeful, Latice continues to respond to that still, small voice, which pushes her to deliver excellence in service to the Body of Christ and the world.http://www.laticecrawfordonline.com/
