The Nelons Have Been Robbed
GMA Hall Of Fame inductees Southern Gospel family group The Nelons have informed fans over social media that they have been robbed. They have requested for our prayers during this trying time. They write:
Dear Facebook family, we ask that you please pray for Kelly. She is at home because the Doctor asked her to stay home to rest and recoup, we left about 2 hours ago and she just realized we were robbed. Very quick job, because we have a house sitter that stays home with our dogs but they have taken (what we can tell at this quick moment) is 4 MacBook Pros, $2000 cash, broke our safe but didn't get inside it, stole all of Kelly's jewelry and Family Heirloom Jewelry passed down from her mother. There are also instruments, studio gear missing and maybe more.
Police are there now and I've called my brother-in-law Todd to be with her tonight. Horrible feeling, after a strenuous day.
We place our trust in God's Mighty Hands!
The Nelons have released over 40 projects, four of which went on to win a GMA Dove Award for Southern Gospel Album of the Year, in addition to three GRAMMY nominations and more than 20 Top 5 singles. Songs such as 'Come Morning,' 'Oh For A Thousand Tongues To Sing' and 'I'm Glad I Know Who Jesus Is' became staple anthems for the group, and propelled them to the top of Southern Gospel music. Singing News Magazine subscribers honored The Nelons, as well as Rex and Kelly individually, numerous times over the years with accolades such as Favorite Mixed Group, Favorite Vocalist and Favorite Song of the Year. A regular on the Gaither Homecoming Stage, The Nelons have been featured performers on stations such as TBN, Daystar, Christian Television Network, and the 700 Club, as well as the GMA Dove Awards and the National Quartet Convention.
