Get Derek Minor's New EP "1014" for Free
Hip Hop artist, producer, writer and record label head, Derek Minor released a new free EP entitled 1014. In the fall, Minor will follow 1014 with another set, a full-length album.
The five-song collection, which includes the single "Greatness," provides fans and music lovers with a powerful message about being yourself. 1014 is a sampling of what listeners can expect from, Reflection, Minor's forthcoming sixth album as a solo artist.
The EP is something Minor has never done before but was a very special experience as an artist.
He says, "without question, this is my best and most honest work to date. This album is very personal, that's why the process of making this album is a little less traditional than other albums in today's market because I produced most of it, wrote all of it, and was extremely meticulous in every detail myself." His full album that he is currently working on will be different from the EP.
In early July, Minor debuted a gritty, thought-provoking new song entitled "Free" and an accompanying video. The song does not appear on 1014 and was written in response to the recent murders of several African-Americans by law enforcement including the killing of of Alton Sterling in Baton Rouge, L.A.
1014 premiered exclusively today via Rapzilla and can be downloaded for free at Minor's website. Minor's last project, Empire, was released in 2015. Reflection, Minor's full length album is scheduled to be released on 10.14.16.
