Pentatonix Debuts at #3 on Billboard 200 with Christmas Album
Vocal group Pentatonix's brand new festive album A Pentatonix Christmas debuts at #3 on Billboard 200. The album sold 60,000 units (52,000 in traditional album sales) last week. The set marks the sixth top 10 for the act and third holiday album to reach the list (following That's Christmas to Me in 2014, which peaked at No. 2, and the PTXmas EP in 2013, which peaked at No. 7).
A Pentatonix Christmas also starts at No. 1 on the Holiday Albums chart, the second leader for the group on that tally, after That's Christmas to Me.
The album features a combination of holiday classics, modern and seasonal favorites, as well as two brand new holiday tracks, written and arranged by the group. Alongside the album, the band has released a video for their arrangement of "Hallelujah" via the Pentatonix YouTube channel (click here to watch).
A Pentatonix Christmas follows 2014's highly successful holiday album, That's Christmas To Me, which is certified 2x platinum, and features the group's Grammy Award winning arrangement for "Dance of the Sugar Plum Fairy." Cumulatively, their holiday albums have sold over 2.5 million albums in the U.S. and their holiday videos have over 340 million views on YouTube.
Pentatonix is currently touring North America on the final leg of their 2016 Pentatonix World Tour, in support of their self-titled album, which was released in October 2015. The album debuted at #1 on Billboard's Top 200 chart and has been certified gold. For more information on the tour, including tickets and meet and greet passes, please visit ptxofficial.com/tour.
