Listen to Reba McEntire, Kelly Clarkson & Trisha Yearwood Sing "Softly and Tenderly"

Reba McEntire is set to release her brand-new debut gospel album, Sing It Now: Songs of Faith & Hope on Feb. 3. Preceding the album is the release of the set's first single. McEntire has teamed up with Kelly Clarkson and Trisha Yearwood to record a new version of the classic gospel song "Softly and Tenderly."
"Softly and Tenderly" was written by Will Lamartine Thompson in 1880 and has since become a well-known Christian hymn. McEntire, Clarkson and Yearwood's version of the song was arranged by Doug Sisemore. McEntire and Yearwood take lead vocals on the track, with Clarkson adding ethereal harmonies throughout.
"Sing It Now was the perfect title for this album because the message and melody throughout the song connects the dots between the traditional hymns I grew up on and new music that has been uplifting for me in challenging times," McEntire explains in a press release.
Other songs on Sing It Now are "Jesus Loves Me," the first song that McEntire ever sang in public; "Oh Happy Day" and "From the Inside Out." McEntire, Rascal Flatts' Jay DeMarcus and band leader / musical director Doug Sisemore co-produced the record together in DeMarcus' home studio.
"Music conjures up great memories and goes hand and hand with us McEntires," McEntire shares. "Mama, Susie and Alice even came into the studio with me to record "I'll Fly Away," all of us gathered around an old hymnal straight from the Chockie church."
Sing It Now: Songs of Faith & Hope is available for pre-order via iTunes. More information about McEntire's first-ever headlining show at the Ryman, set for Feb. 15, is available on the venue's official website.
