Shania Twain Goes the Inspirational Route with Uplifting New Single 'Life's About to Get Good'
Country music superstar Shania Twain has announced that she will be releasing her new single "Life's About to Get Good" in 13 years. Twain's last single was a duet with Billy Currington entitled "Party of Two" in 2004. "Life's About to Get Good" is scheduled to arrive in June. It will be the lead single off Shania Twain's much anticipated new album in 15 years. The title for the new set has not yet been revealed; it is due out in September.
Twain made the announcement during her appearance on The Voice Monday night, where she appeared as the first-time-ever fifth judge on the show and a key adviser to the contestants. "I was at home looking out at the ocean and I said to myself, 'Here I am stuck in this past of negativity, but it's so beautiful out. I'm not in the mood to write a 'feeling-sorry-for-myself' song.... You can't have the good without the bad. And that's what the song ended up being about."
Twain will debut "Life's About to Get Good" at Stagecoach Music Festival this Saturday in Indio, Calif. On writing the song, the singer explains that it came to her as she was looking to break free of a very negative time in her life.
"I was thinking, 'Okay, what is life about?' I was being kind of serious; I was reflecting," she tells the newspaper. "Life's about joy, life's about pain, life's about this, life's about that ... Then all of a sudden: 'Life's about to get good.' And I thought, 'What a great play on words! How fun is that?"
