Soundgarden Performing on Guitar Center Sessions June 15th, Fall 2014 Tour with Nine Inch Nails
Veteran rock band, Soundgarden, are going to be on the next Guitar Center Sessions airing Sunday, June 15th on DIRECTV. They will play hits from their 1994 release of Superunknown and all through their catalog.
Chris Cornell, Kim Thayil, Ben Shepherd and Matt Cameron made it out of the grunge scene in Seattle and into international superstars in their 30 year career. In that time, they've created a deep catalog that includes iconic songs such as "Rusty Cage" and "My Wave," as well as the Grammy-winning "Spoonman" and "Black Hole Sun."
During the Guitar Center Sessions on DIRECTV, Nic Harcourt sits down with Soundgarden to discuss their hits, history and the 20th anniversary of the landmark record, Superunknown. Plus, watch exclusive performances from their set in Austin, Texas.
Soundgarden and Nine Inch Nails have also announced they will be joining forces for a 23 date Summer U.S. Tour. The tour will kick off in Las Vegas on July 19 before finally winding up at the Hollywood Bowl on August 25. As a surprise opening act, they will be bringing out experimental Sacramento hip-hop group Death Grips to open up the show. Tickets are currently on sale now.
Reznor brought Nine Inch Nails back this year with the new album Hesitation Marks and a tour to follow. Soundgarden will release a 20th anniversary reissue of Superunknown on June 3. The band got back together after years of absence to release the new album, 2012's King Animal.
