Unspoken Releases "Reason" Ahead of New Album

Unspoken released a new single today, along with the announcement of their third album, both titled "Reason." The new album will mark the band's first full-length record in three years, set for release June 21. Listeners can check out the song "Reason" through all digital outlets and its lyric video, plus pre-order the album next week on Unspoken's website.
Working with producers including Tedd T. (for KING & COUNTRY), Chris Stevens (tobyMac), David Spencer (Hunter Hayes), and Jeff Pardo (Ben Rector), Unspoken poured their personal stories and vulnerabilities into this new batch of songs, all of which, unintentionally, pointed to a central message:
"Every song on the album speaks to some different kind of emotion or struggle we've been going through, but every one has the idea that God's love is the reason-it's the reason we have everything needed, it's the reason we can love ourselves, it's the reason we can forgive, the reason we've made it this far, the reason we can look in the mirror and be confident, to know we're gonna be all right," lead singer Chad Mattson says. "In the hard times, I've sometimes wondered 'When is God gonna show up?' But the truth is we've already been given the victory. That's more than enough reason to believe, to persevere, to trust...This album is about sharing with people that you have a Reason."
With the new music, Unspoken adds gospel influences to their signature soulful-pop sound, striking the right chord musically and emotionally.
"The thing about soul music, the roots of this type of music is tribulation, it's trials, it's desperation...It's why all of us relate to gospel music in some way, shape, or form. The themes of this record come from seasons of trial and tribulation, so it only made sense to add some of these elements sonically. It's what this album needed," Mattson describes.
Next week's pre-order will include exclusive merchandise bundles. Keep up with all new announcements by following the band on Facebook and Instagram and signing up for their email list. Plus, catch Unspoken on their current tour with North Point InsideOut and Caitie Hurst, which runs through mid-April.

About Unspoken:
With birthplaces ranging from Maine to Puerto Rico, Unspoken showcases musicality as distinctive as their roots. Made up of Chad Mattson, Jon Lowry, Ariel Munoz, and Alan Pelno, the CCM band has been reaching listeners across the world from their earliest releases. Their 2012 debut single "Who You Are" was iTunes' Top Christian Song of the Year, in addition to reaching the Top 10 of the NCA Chart. Their follow-up, self-titled debut album made its way to the Top 10 of Billboard's CCM chart and included such hits as "Good Fight," "Lift My Life Up," and "Start A Fire," the last of which became the group's first AC radio No. 1. Their song "Call It Grace" was not only an NCA Top 10, but was nominated for a K-LOVE Award for "Song of the Year" and honored by ASCAP as a Top Christian Song of 2016. With their follow-up releases, the band has continued to reach audiences in and beyond the Christian music sphere with their talent and captivating performances. They've toured alongside acts like MercyMe and Casting Crowns, sharing their powerful testimonies through song. Their last EP features the radio Top 10 praise anthem "Just Give Me Jesus," and their third full-length album comes out in June 2019.
