Anthony Evans' "Altared" Debuts at #1

Anthony Evans' album Altared, released on his self-started independent label and production company Sherman James Productions, debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard Gospel Albums Sales Chart this week according to Soundscan. This marks his second consecutive album to debut at No. 1. The 11-track album features the NBC The Voice alumnus re-imagining and "Altaring" top worship songs along with recording heartfelt originals including the debut single "Fighting For Us," which is climbing the gospel radio charts.
"I love what I get to do," said Evans. "More than that, I love being able to do it along side producers, musicians and associates whom I enjoy. Altared was birthed out of the moments when God allowed a variation in my life's situations in an effort to drive me back to the literal Altar. He allowed this so I could see and experience Him again, for the first time. On this album, I wanted to take songs people might know in one way and Alter them so they hear them again...for the first time. My hope is that with this variation the listener will be drawn into the presence of God in a new way."
With his unmatched vocal stylings, Evans delivers a unique and powerful full-length worship album. Joined by Grammy Award-Winning Producer Max Stark, pop producer Bert Elliott and an all-star team of singers and musicians, Evans shapes an innovative project that's stacked with soulful and gospel influences, R&B and hip hop flavors, periodic programming, uncluttered arrangements, crisp production and an all-around progression. Altared is available through all digital retailers and exclusively via Lifeway Christian Resources.
After a recent run of sold-out spring events with Evans' sister, Author, Bible Teacher, and Actress Priscilla Shirer, demand was high for more FerVent 2.0 dates. Evans, via his independently owned Sherman James Productions, is sending the tour out on a fall run of shows, which kicks off in Memphis, Tenn. on September 7. Evans' faithful expressions from his new album Altared are coupled with the dynamic teaching based on the message of Priscilla's upcoming movie Overcomer. Each night, these siblings leave the audience with a life-changing, unforgettable experience. Tickets for the shows are on sale online.
