Matt Boswell and Matt Papa Debut at #1 with "His Mercy is More"
Modern hymn writers Matt Boswell and Matt Papa debuted at #1 on the Nielsen's Christian Praise and Worship Chart and #3 on the Billboard Christian Contemporary Chart, #4 overall with their new release His Mercy Is More -The Hymns Of Matt Boswell and Matt Papa. The album release coincided with the appearance of Boswell and Papa at Sing! 2019, a Getty Music Worship Conference in Nashville with events attended by more than 13,000 people in venues across the city. The album captures the pastor and worship leader soulfully delivering their modern hymns, framing both new lyrics and the timeless verses of the Psalms. "Many years, conversations, and tears are all a part of these songs. Our hope with this album is to help others deepen faith and grow stronger in the hope we have in the gospel of grace," says Matt Boswell. Matt Papa adds, "I'm so grateful this album exists - the songs are well-crafted, and I don't say that with any pride - I've never really felt like the owner of these songs - but a steward. These songs belong to the church."
Churches across the nation are already singing songs from the project, with the title track of the new album expected to cross into the top 100 on the CCLI chart (CCLI licenses and tracks the use of music in churches across the globe). Boswell and Papa will each make guest appearances at a number of dates with Keith and Kristyn Getty this fall and winter.
The album is distributed by Captiol Christian Music Distribution on the Getty Music Label. Boswell and Papa are each exclusive songwriters for Getty Music, and this release from the label marks the first album where artists besides Keith and Kristyn Getty are the feature. Keith Getty says, "Kristyn and I have been personally refreshed by the songs of Matt (Boswell) and Matt (Papa) and are so grateful for the opportunity to share them with more and more people around the world through Getty Music. Each of these guys is involved in local church ministry and a respected writer, musician, and leader in his own right."
In addition to Matt Boswell and Matt Papa, Getty Music has exclusive songwriter relationships with Jordan Kauflin (I Will Wait for You), Matt Merker (He Will Hold Me Fast), Keith Getty and Kristyn Getty.
