Over 180 Colorado Christian University (CCU) Students Marching at the 2020 National March for Life
Over 180 Colorado Christian University (CCU) students are traveling from Colorado to Washington, D.C., this week as CCU prepares for its role as the official university-leader of the 2020 National March for Life, Friday, Jan. 24. CCU is no stranger to Washington, D.C., given the extensive reach of the university's public policy think tank The Centennial Institute.
Participating alongside the students is the university President Donald W. Sweeting, various members of the university faculty, trustees, alumni, and friends of The Centennial Institute. Delegates among the student representatives are available to meet with leaders throughout the nation's capital, including with members of the press.
"The record number of young people from CCU, and all over the country, attending this year's March for Life will clearly demonstrate what many of us have been saying for a long time - that the younger generations are more pro-life," says Jeff Hunt, Executive Director of The Centennial Institute. "Young people are leading the pro-life movement, and rejecting the lies of the past that a child in a mother's womb is simply a clump of cells that can be discarded. These students are caring for mothers, demonstrating alternatives to abortion, and may very well be the generation to overturn Roe vs. Wade."
CCU has an "overwhelming pro-life culture," according to campus leaders who point toward a robust campus ministry, CCU for Life, which routinely serves women facing the decision to abort their baby or not and works within and outside of the State of Colorado to reform abortion policies.
Throughout the course of their time in Washington, students will attend the annual March for Life conference, meet U.S. Secretary of Education Betsy DeVos, members of media, tour Washington, D.C., and join hundreds of thousands of Americans in the March for Life on Friday.
The students will also participate in the annual CCU President's Dinner to be held Wednesday, Jan. 22, at the Museum of the Bible, and the March for Life's Rose Dinner on Friday, January 24.
