Prestonwood Baptist Church to Host Mental Health Conference, March 27-28
Prestonwood Baptist Church and the American Association of Christian Counselors have joined together to host The River Conference, a gathering designed to equip us all to better help and care for those who are hurting.
The conference will take place at Prestonwood Baptist Church in Plano, Texas, on March 27 and 28, and will feature some of the nation's leading experts on mental health, family and relationships, grief, trauma and addiction.
"Prestonwood is delighted to partner with the American Association of Christian Counselors to bring The River Conference to our congregation and community," Dr. Jack Graham, pastor of Prestonwood Baptist Church said. "This one-of-a-kind, transformative event is designed to equip people to lead themselves and others not just to survive but thrive, especially through the most difficult seasons in life. We're excited to offer a chance for people to interact with tough topics while applying biblical principles."
Keynote speakers at The River Conference include renowned psychiatrist Dr. Daniel Amen, Sheila Walsh, Ted Cunningham, Dr. Michael Lyles, and Dr. Caroline Leaf. Prestonwood lead worship pastor Michael Neale will lead the worship portions of the event, and Big Daddy Weave will perform Friday, Feb. 27, in concert. Conference attendees also will have access to 25 workshops on topics such as marriage and family, brain and disorders and grief and loss, among others, taught by licensed counselors and mental health professionals.
Dr. Graham and Dr. Tim Clinton, President of the American Association of Christian Counselors, will be speaking as well.
