Kanye West Declares He will Run for US President in 2020

Kanye West is not only topping the pop, Gospel and Christian music charts with his music, he has announced that he will run for the Presidency of the country. The rapper took to Twitter on America's birthday (July 4) to officially announce he is running for the highest office in the land.
The superstar began his message by writing, "We must now realize the promise of America by trusting God, unifying our vision and building our future," and he quickly got straight to the point by stating quite plainly, "I am running for president of the United States!" He then added the hashtag #2020VISION, which may be something he continues to use moving forward.
It was not immediately clear if West was serious about vying for the presidency four months before the November 3 election or if he had filed any official paperwork to appear on state election ballots. The deadline to add independent candidates to the ballot has not yet passed in many states.
West has recently teamed up with Travis Scott for his latest single, "Wash Us In the Blood." The song is the first single from West's upcoming album, God's Country, which follows Jesus Is King and Jesus Is Born, both released in 2019.
Like the works on "Jesus is Born," "Wash Us In the Blood" is a song of worship. Lyrics include: "Rain down on us (Huh) // Holy Spirit, come down (Ooh) // Holy Spirit, come down (Ah) // We need You now // Wash us in the blood (Ooh) // Whole life bein' thugs (Ah) // No choice, sellin' drugs (God) // Genocide what it does // Slavery what it does."
The single is already for sale on West's website. In addition to digital downloads, CDs, cassettes and vinyl are being offered.
