Earnest Pugh Scores a #1 Hit with "God Wants To Heal You"
This week Blacksmoke Music Worldwide Recording Artist Earnest Pugh lands at #1 on the Billboard Gospel Airplay Chart with his smash hit "God Wants To Heal You," the lead single from his highly anticipated recently released "Outpour Experience LIVE" CD. The Outpour Experience is Pugh's 12th project and features Amber Bullock and Betty Keller with masterful production by Michael Bereal, Keith Williams, and Marque Walker.
According to Pugh, the timeless song was written by one of his hometown mentors, Apostle Kevin Davidson. Pugh shared, "I am blown away by the fact that Kevin allowed me to record this song over 12 years ago to this day it still has the ability to speak loud and clear amidst recent and current events that are transpiring in our world such as the death of Kobe Bryant, the Covid-19 pandemic, and the string of senseless killings of unarmed African American men.
Elated with the news, Blacksmoke CEO Kerry Douglas said "I will never forget the day I called Pugh and expressed a sense of urgency to include this great song on the "Outpour Experience" CD. Pugh was reluctant to do so because he had recorded all new material but to me, the CD was missing a key element of relevance and just weeks after I started promoting the single at radio we could quickly see the wisdom of the decision we mutually agreed on."
Songwriter Apostle Kevin Davidson says, "The song is a reminder of God's desire and intention for His people to be healed, whole, and complete."
To commemorate the dynamic duo's 3rd #1 hit together, they will release "The Healing Medley" (arranged by Earnest Pugh and Produced by Michael Bereal). The track is centered around the "God Wants To Heal You" song and will have a couple of surprise appearances. The track will be available on all digital platforms Friday, July 31st.
