Chicago Mass Choir's New 17th Album "My Soul Says Yes" Arrives Today
International gospel ambassadors, Chicago Mass Choir releases their 17th album today. The full-length project, entitled My Soul Says Yes is available through all streaming and download services as well as in brick and mortar and online stores.
The project's debut is heralded by the electrifying radio single, "My Soul Says Yes/I Say Yes to My Lord," which features Felicia Welch as lead vocalist. Welch was also the soloist on Chicago Mass Choir's hit, "I Pray We'll All Be Ready," which has garnered well over 11 million views on YouTube. A video of "My Soul Says Yes/I Say Yes to My Lord," is currently being produced for streaming on iTunes and YouTube.
Chicago Mass Choir's new single has become the third most-added gospel single in America with responses like these:
Radio and TV host Lonnie Hunter: "Okay, let's just call it what it is: A FULL-ON HIT! Chicago Mass has yet to disappoint their fans or the industry. This single delivers in true CMC fashion!"
Mike Chandler, president of www.musicalsoulfood.com: "The Chicago Mass Choir knocks it out of the park with 'My Soul Says Yes/I Say Yes To My Lord.' This song will certainly take you all the way to Church. I have been waiting to add a strong upbeat choir song to my playlist...now I have it!"
Tony D of WAAW - Shout 94.7 FM in Augusta, GA: "'My Soul Says Yes' from The Chicago Mass Choir brings Choir Music back to the forefront of Gospel Music. Another Classic from The Chicago Mass!"
Tony Gee of WFMV - Columbia SC's Inspiration Station 95.3 FM: "Come on Chicago Mass! Thank you for giving us a churchy answer to COVID-19!"
The internationally-acclaimed group, which has released six CD's and accompanying DVD's on the New Haven label, is known for such stellar hits as "Holy Ghost Power," "I Pray We'll Be Ready," "God is My Everything," "Thank You Thank You Jesus," and most recently "We Give You Praise." Their dynamic, unapologetically traditional gospel sound has garnered numerous Dove, Grammy, and Stellar Award nominations as well as Chicago Music Awards. In 2017, they earned a Stellar Award for Best Traditional Choir for their We Give You Praise project.
Produced by the award-winning talents of Percy Gray, Jr. and Jeral Gray, Sr., My Soul Says Yes is filled with such timely declarations as "Excellent Is Your Name," "God Is on Our Side," "Right There" and "We Serve a Mighty God." Having been reminded of God's past faithfulness and his promise of future deliverance, CMC calls God's people to praise with such songs "Hallelujah (You Are Worthy)," "Are You Ready to Worship?," "Tell God Thank You," and the title track, "My Soul Says Yes/I Say Yes to My Lord."
New Haven Records president Ken Harding concludes, "This has been a trying season for the CMC family. Producer Percy Gray, Jr. is recovering from COVID-19 and Dr. Feranda Williamson, the choir's president and CEO, is grieving the recent passing of her mother. No matter our circumstances, we are convinced that the Lord's faithfulness will bring us through today's trials into tomorrow's victory. This has been Chicago Mass Choir's story and song for the past 30 years and it will be their testimony until we see Christ face-to-face."
Chicago Mass Choir was organized in 1988 as a gospel music workshop choir and officially became known as Chicago Mass Choir in 1990 with its first recording--"Right Now If You Believe." Internationally acclaimed for almost three decades of powerful praise and worship ministry, their 17 releases have garnered numerous Dove, Grammy, and Stellar Award nominations as well as Chicago Music Awards.
