Samsung Galaxy Tab 3 vs Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 After Specs Comparison and Pricing, Which is the Better Option?

When you are buying such high end devices the only way to be certain about the better option is the details, regardless of how minor they are because that is the different between good and perfect. To start off the comparison let us do a hardware comparison of the two devices.

Hardware: the galaxy tab 3 comes available with a 1.2 GHz dual core processor and the memory variants are 8 and 16 GB. This can also expanded up to 64 GB using a Micro SD. The galaxy tab 2 arrives with a 1.0 GHz dual core processor and memory variants for 8, 16 and 32 GB. It also has a TI OMAP 4430 chipset. Both of the devices are run on android formats and the operating systems are a bit different. The Tab 2 has ice cream sandwich as the default while the Tab 3 has the Jellybean as the default. On the other hand, the tab 2 can be upgraded to have a jelly bean system. So that the tab 2 is similar in many aspects to the tab 3 and can catch up via upgrade in terms of hardware.

Display: the Galaxy tab 2 has a 7 inch PLS LCD which is capable of rendering 600 x 1024 pixels resolution. The Tab 3 comes available with a 7 inch TFT screen with the same resolution. On the other hand, when it comes to the design features, the tab 3 weighs about 40 grams less than the tab 2.

Camera: both of the devices are available with two cameras, the primary being a 3.15 MP, and the secondary for the tab 2 being VGA while the secondary for the Tab 3 being 1.3 MP. Not much of a difference here as the MP's are still on the lower side for much comparison.

Pricing: this is where it gets interesting as they both have standard prices for default and upgraded variants. The tab 2 price default is AU $219.95, and the Tab 3 is AU $249.95
