Deborah Joy Winans Releases New Single “I Won’t Stop Breathing”

Actress and singer Deborah Joy Winans' new inspirational R n B single "I Won't Stop Breathing" is now available on all digital platforms. The stripped back piano ballad speaks to the emotional resolve it takes to get past heartbreak. "I Won't Stop Breathing" sends a message of hope and inspiration to all those affected by negativity and hurting to never give up.
Deborah Joy says, "My brother Juan shared this song with me and I always knew I wanted to record it. Sometimes when we face heartbreak in life, and we feel like all hope is lost, the only thing we can do is not stop breathing. The recent tragedy of George Floyd and Breonna Taylor brought those lyrics to my heart and mind, and I feel like it is right for this moment in history. A time of extraordinary sadness, but also hope for tomorrow"
"I Won't Stop Breathing" is the first original song released by Winans to be followed by an upcoming EP.
She currently stars as the songbird Charity Greenleaf on OWN's award-winning drama series Greenleaf from executive producer Oprah Winfrey, currently airing its fifth and final season. Winans has lent her voice to several seasons of the show's soundtrack. The song "The Master's Calling" from Season 1 reached no. 15 on the Hot Gospel Billboard Charts and in Season 3 her duet "Changed" with Patti Labelle hit the Top 30 at Gospel Radio. She received a Best New Artist Stellar Awards nomination for "The Masters Calling" and an NAACP nomination for Best Actress for her portrayal of her real-life aunt CeCe Winans in the stage musical Born for This.
