Pat Barrett New Album Releases Today; Video ft. Chris Tomlin Debuts
Today worship leader and songwriter Pat Barrett releases his new 17 track studio project, Act Justly, Love Mercy, Walk Humbly, (Bowyer & Bow / Capitol Christian Music Group) available here. Accompanying the studio project are specially recorded live videos with appearances including Mack Brock, Chris Tomlin, Jon Reddick and Franni Rae Cash of We The Kingdom.
In celebration of today's release, the live music video for the featured single "As For Me (Feat. Chris Tomlin)," debuts today here. As the flagship artist on Tomlin's label imprint Bowyer & Bow, Barrett is honored to have him part of this album.
"I loved getting to write and record 'As For Me' with my friends Chris Tomlin and Jason Ingram," recalls Pat Barrett. "Actually, it was one of the last songs to arrive for this project and feels so important to it. The verse from Joshua that the song is based on is one of the most famous verses in the scriptures...a refrigerator verse...so many people have it in their house somewhere that it can be almost 'too familiar' (if you know what I mean).
We can see and hear something so often that we forget how simple and profound it is. For me, it deals with the question: 'What do you do with the things that you can't control in the world?' We are advertised to and bombarded with countless philosophies and 'ways' that we can live and improve our lives. I have reached the age now where I've seen a lot of people choose a different way than Jesus. Joshua 24:15: But as for me and my household, we will serve the Lord. Everyone has a choice to make, and I've made mine."
"Personally, Pat is not only one of my closest friends but one of my favorite artists and worship leaders today," shares Chris Tomlin. "He is extremely talented and an incredible voice for the modern church. I have been waiting in great anticipation for the world to be able to hear and experience this music and what it represents and I couldn't be more excited."
Staying true to a promise he made himself years ago, Barrett only shares songs that have helped him grow in some way and this album is no different. This new project highlights him as a proficient artist/songwriter and worship leader with lyrics that cover a wide spectrum of topics from personal experiences to current challenges in our world today. "This project is a curious collection of songs that were written and recorded over a span of two years," shares Barrett. "Act Justly, Love Mercy, Walk Humbly...Act, love, walk....for me, these have been the songs that touch every area of my life. The songs that have helped 'make sense' of things, and also the songs that have helped set the table of communion when not much has made sense at all. Some songs are about matters of the heart and some songs are matter of fact about how things aren't the way they should be."
Act Justly, Love Mercy, Walk Humbly, touts multiple producers including Ed Cash, Jason Ingram, Hank Bentley, Jonathan Smith, Harold Brown, Aaron Robertson, Daniel Bashta and David Leonard. The songs on the album are co-written by Chris Tomlin, Jason Ingram, Matt Redman, Daniel Bashta, Ben Smith, Cody Carnes, Mack Brock, David Leonard, Harold Brown, Johnathon Jay, Jordan Frye, Jeff Pardo, Hank Bently, and Patrick Mayberry.
