Elias Dummer is Currently Making His New Album
Worship leader and the former lead singer of The City Harmonic, Elias Dummer is currently working on his brand new album The Work Vol. II. On this brand new set, Brent Millgan will be co-producing the new album. Millgan has been known to helmed records by Steven Curtis Chapman, Seventh Day Slumber and David Crowder band.
This new album will address many issues the church is facing. Dummer writes, "A lot of troubling stuff has come to the surface in the Church and it feels like God's been stirring some thoughts in me that I've got share. I feel an incredible urgency to turn these prayers of wrestling into songs for the Church. I believe that the Christian faith can be a thing of passion and reason alike - it's time to re-learn to love God and engage the world with heart, soul and mind."
Dummer has revealed that one of the songs on the album has been co-written with Zach Bolen of the Christian group Citizens. Dummer has given us a sneak peek at the lyrics of one of the songs:
Mercy
What I need is mercy
But what I want is mostly mercy for me
Justice, yeah, we all we want justice
But is it really justice if it doesn't cost us
Do I love mercy enough to bleed?
Will I do justly when it ain't free?
I could walk humbly, weak on my feet
With Christ as my king, his mercy through me
Kyrie Eleison, Lord Have Mercy
Further, Dummer has also announced that for the first time in over fourteen months, he will be leading worship and/or speaking at a few live events in the coming months. "I am so grateful that my family and I have been vaccinated - now it's your turn. I can't wait to worship with you as soon as possible."
