Jim Brickman Speaks of His Dream to Record a Christmas Album with an Orchestra

Popular pianist Jim Brickman returns with his brand new festive album A Christmas Symphony on Oct 29. On this cinematic new holiday album, Jim realizes his dream of recording with a symphony orchestra. The album features vocal embellishment of Kellii O'Hara (Broadway) and John Ondrasik (Five For Fighting). Enjoy traditional favorites "O Holy Night" and "What Child Is This" alongside new instrumental originals.
It has always been Brickman's dream to record a Christmas album with an orchestra. "It has always been a dream of mine to record an album with a Symphony Orchestra. The timeless sounds of soaring strings, glorious woodwinds & brass, sparkling percussion and the beautiful harmony of all of those instruments coming to life together. There's no better time than Christmas to celebrate with music, so I felt it was fitting to make my first orchestra album a holiday collection.
This collection of songs is both traditional and contemporary, and features many of my favorite carols along with original compositions and star-studded vocal performances.
This album is truly a labor of love. I hope you'll enjoy making it a part of your holiday season for many years to come."
Brickman's distinctive piano style and captivating live performances have revolutionized the popularity of instrumental music, making him a driving force behind modern American music. The hit-making songwriter is the best-selling solo pianist of our time earning 21 Number One albums and 32 Top 20 Radio Singles in the industry bible, "Billboard Magazine." He's garnered two Grammy nominations, gospel music's Dove Award, two SESAC Songwriter of the Year Awards, and the Canadian Country Music Award. He also has a music scholarship named for him by his alma mater, the prestigious Cleveland Institute of Music.
