Rita Springer Recalls How the New Centricity Worship's Single "You See Me (In Focus)" was Birthed
Worship music leader and songwriter Rita Springer has been invited to sing with Seth Condrey on Centricity Worship's latest single "You See Me (In Focus)." Produced by Patrick Mayberry, the hopeful new song was written during the most recent retreat by Springer, Condrey and Matt Armstrong.
"You See Me (In Focus)" is the first of several new songs to come from the recent Centricity Worship retreat, including the Mayberry, Chris McClarney amd Mike Grayson-written "Only Jesus," which is set to release Jan. 28. A full Centricity Worship + Friends EP of new music from the latest songwriter retreats is slated to release next spring.
Rita Springer reflects on the retreat. "I had the honor of being at the Centricity Music writers retreat this year. We usually had two writes a day. I went into a session with Seth Condrey and Matt Armstrong, and we just started talking about God. The song came as a result of a word God had given me for Matt! We started there and this simple song about God seeing us in focus and not in a fog, came out.
All the writers would gather at night and listen to songs we had written during the day. This song to me was special because of that conversation and it's truth. I was a bit shocked when they asked to record it and release it today. There were days full of incredible songs and I always feel humbled when ones I helped with are chosen. The beauty of being a song writer though is to remember the moment the song was born more then the song being chosen and released! We had a God moment. He was close and graced us with his presence. Thanks to Centricity and their belief in it! Thanks heaps to the incredible Patrick Mayberry for his production!"
"Centricity Publishing has been doing these worship retreats for years, and out of them have come some really powerful songs that have gone on to inspire worshipers around the world," notes Chad Segura,Vice President, Centricity Publishing. "Along with our own team of writers, we always like to invite other talented songwriters from around the industry to these retreats as well. We love getting to do this with our friends. And in recording some of the favorite tunes from the resulting collaborations, our hope is that people will discover and connect with these songs, incorporating them into both their personal and corporate worship settings."
