"Halo 5: Guardians" Release Date Pushed Back to Fall of 2015; Multiplayer Beta Version Will Be Released in December and "Halo: The Master Chief Collection" Will Be Released in November
The Halo 5 video game will be released sometime in 2015, and its official name is "Halo 5: Guardians." The game will feature Agent Locke, the figurehead of Ridley Scott's "Halo:Nightfall," as one of the characters featured in the game.
An official release from the makers of the game stated, "The game is set to launch exclusively on the Xbox One platform and is being developed by the same makers of Halo 4. Fans were anticipating a release date sometime this year, but due to undisclosed production issues, it has in fact been pushed back." Fans had originally expected a release in the fall of 2014, but it looks as though it has been delayed to the end of 2015. 343 Industries General Manager Bonnie Ross stated," 'Halo 5: Guardians' is a bigger effort than 'Halo 4.' That applies to the content and scope of the game, as well as the technology in what's now a brand-new and more powerful engine...we've invested a huge effort...to take full advantage of the Xbox One's hardware and ecosystem to create world and experiences worthy of next-gen."
However, fans need not despair; there is a multiplayer version coming out in December. 343 Industries will release the playable beta for a limited time only through January 22, 2015. Any gains the players make in the beta will then transfer over to the official Halo 5 release. No doubt gamemakers hope that this will appease fans of the game, most of whom are chomping at the bit to get their hands on the newest version of the game.
Another form of distraction for game fans will be the release of "Halo: The Master Chief Collection" on November 11. This compilation will include all four installments of the Halo game that have been released thus far, and will only be available for the Xbox One.
