Brent Jones Steps Out on His Own with "Joy Comin'"
Choir director and Gospel artist Brent Jones has stepped out on his own as he anticipates the release of his solo effort "Joy Comin'" on August 19. One of Jones many successes was that he was the creator of T.P. (Total Praise) Mobb. This Gospel music group was known for their hip-hop-beats and their significant messages that express the truth of the Gospel without compromise. For years, they had toured and recorded hits as "Midnight" featuring Coko Clemons (of R&B trio SWV) to "Goodtime," the head-bopping groove featured on WOW Gospel 2000. In 2004 Jones was offered an opportunity that required him to relocate to the east coast, which meant he could no longer actively pilot the T.P. Mobb, and fulfill his new duties simultaneously.
After a fulfilled recording-hiatus Jones is back in California, and steps out on his own with his anticipated project, "Joy Comin'." "Joy Comin'" is filled with great emotion, real life stories, Sunday morning worship and the latest grooves and beats that will be able to engage every kind of listener. The single "Joy Comin'" is already charted on the national Gospel radio charts in a matter of a couple weeks and getting praise across the board.
Jones comments, "Joy Comin' is a groove that reminds me of feel-good R&B from the 80's and 90's." But the songs overall come from the messages that he wants to preach-Life lessons, current events, and personal emotion. With this project, I want to remind people that even in these uncertain times, we can't forgive or overlook the things that bring us joy, and it's that joy that give us strength," says Jones. "I want them to feel revived and rejuvenated!"
