Collin Hansen Takes Readers Behind the Scenes of One of the 21st Century's Most Influential Church Leaders, Timothy Keller

Timothy Keller is a world-renowned pastor, theologian, and Christian apologist. Millions have listened to his sermons and read his books, but not many people know how he become the man he is today. Journalist Collin Hansen talked to family and friends and had the most extensive access to Keller's personal notes and sermons to reveal these influences in Timothy Keller: His Spiritual and Intellectual Formation.
Profiling one of the 21st centuries most influential church leaders, Timothy Keller is a story about Keller's spiritual and intellectual influences, from the woman who taught him how to read the Bible to the professor who taught him to preach Jesus in every text to the philosopher who taught him to see beneath society's surface. By covering new ground in Keller's childhood and early years as a pastor, Timothy Keller sheds new light on a preacher and author who never expected to be in the public eye.
Hansen introduces readers to Keller's early years in Pennsylvania, where he battled wits with bullies; the first church he pastored in Hopewell, Virginia, where he learned to care deeply for people; and ultimately New York, the city that lifted him to the international fame he never wanted. Timothy Keller is the story of the people, the books, the lectures and ultimately the God who formed and shaped his life.
"Unlike a traditional biography, this book tells Keller's story from the perspective of his influences, more than his influence," Hansen writes. "A child of the 1960s, student in the 1970s, church planter in the 1980s, and leader of one of New York's largest churches on September 11, 2001, Timothy Keller's life spans many of the last century's most tumultuous events."
Hansen is available for select interviews and can discuss a variety of topics, including:
-
The spiritual influences of one of the leading Christian writers & thinkers of the 21st century
-
