"The Hunger Games: Mockingjay, Part One" New Trailer Released at San Diego Comic-Con 2014; Gives First Look at Julianne Moore as President Alma Coin and "Game of Thrones" Natalie Dormer as Cressida
So far we've been treated to a series of propaganda-like teaser trailers, all about a minute long, that have given us a sneak peek at "The Hunger Games: Mockingjay, Part One." Yesterday, the first full trailer for the film was released at San Diego Comic-Con 2014.
In it, we see the late Philip Seymour Hoffman's character, Plutarch Heavensbee, telling a skeptic President Coin (played by Julianne Moore) that Katniss Everdeen (played by Oscar-winner Jennifer Lawrence) is the only one capable of leading the people of the districts into rebellion against the Capitol.
We get our first glimpse of Katniss after the demise of her home in District 12. All of the teasers released so far have shown fans only President Snow, Peeta, Joanna Mason, and a brief look at Plutarch Heavensbee in a rebel transmission. Katniss looks quite the worse for wear, but appears determined to head the rebellion of the districts against the Capitol.
We also (briefly) see Liam Hemsworth as Gale and Natalie Dormer as Cressida in this trailer, looking fierce and ready to fight, but so far there is no sighting of brainwashed prisoner Peeta. The trailer, dark and hinting at bloodshed to come, is surely setting the mood for what will be the most haunting and violent films of "The Hunger Games" saga thus far.
Fans can watch for "The Hunger Games: Mockingjay, Part One" to hit theaters on November 21. Until then, you can watch the trailer here.
