NCIS Season 12 Release Date and Reveals: Will Ziva Return for Season 12 and More on Ducky 

The 12^th season of NCIS which is a procedural criminal drama which airs on CBS is coming soon. The premiere date has not been specified although it should be in the late fall. All of season cast favorites are back and have renewed their contracts for the new season.  However, last season we saw the departure of Cote de Pablo, otherwise known as Ziva David on the show. The new season has brought a lot of rumors over whether she will be back to reprise her role in the drama. At the moment she is occupied with shooting a series called the 'Dovekeepers', so it may be a bit  tricky to get for the 12^th installment of NCIS,  though her other project is a miniseries and may just offer a slot big enough to fit both.

The series will take a new focus on the character's Ducky and Gibbs in the 12^th season. We will get to see more of Ducky's past, seeing his origin story because we have never gotten to know a lot about how he got to join the team. Gibbs has been his confidant and head of the team, and has always seemed to know more about him. The interesting thing is that when Gibbs lost his memory, it was Ducky that got to know knew information which was helpful in learning about him and his past, the clash of who knows what, will be something to see.

The original NCIS gave birth to a spin off series, "NCIS: New Orleans" and it will have some of the cast of the current NCIS. It will be interesting to see how the agents and the agencies that control them benefit from the experience and mentorship of Gibbs since the onset. Mark Harmon who plays agent Gibbs is also one of the executive producers in the spin off.  The other plot details include agent DiNozzo's budding new relationship and Jeremy Palmer coming to terms with becoming a father. Other details are still being kept under wraps, for now.
