Microsoft Surface Mini: All You Need To Know On The Release Date, Features, Reports And Rumors Of The Microsoft Surface Mini Tablet

What does Microsoft has in store for us? It is set to launch the successor of its Surface tablet in October as the production of the devices set to start soon. This is according to the Taiwan-based manufacturer, Pegatron. As per reports from DigiTimes, the production of the components will begin on August then the mass production of the devices will follow in September. The new device, the Microsoft Surface 3 will feature a 10.6-inch screen display. It will be slimmer and will have a lighter profile. It is also expected to make more sales in comparison with the Microsoft Surface Pro which was launched in May.

In the last two years, Microsoft unveiled the new surface tablets in October when the first generation of the Surface tablets with Windows RT was announced in 2012. The device comes with Windows RT as the Operating System, which is a version of mobile processor which was designed to run in ARM architecture. The processor only runs programs downloaded from the windows store.

In the meantime, it is believed that the company is working on a Surface Mini which is expected to have Windows RT 8.1 as the operating system. The Surface Mini is expected to debut not later than this summer. It is reported that the Surface Mini was set to be released together with the Surface Pro 3 but decided against it as they did not know if it would have a chance to take on the other tablets of its category. Reports say that Microsoft took this time to go back to production and improve the features and specs of the Surface Mini tablet.

Meanwhile, though indirectly, Microsoft has confirmed the existence of the Surface Mini tablets. The surface user guide of the Surface Pro 3 has made references to the Surface Mini. It is reported that Microsoft will finally release this smaller tablet this summer. Aside from this, more details about the features and specs of the Surface Mini were not given. Since there is mass production of the tablet in plan, it might come with great features which may impress the fans.
