THE SHIFT, Movie Inspired by the Book of Job, Remains a Success at the Box Office
THE SHIFT, the debut original theatrical release from Angel Studios, the studio behind the summer blockbuster SOUND OF FREEDOM, continues a strong run at the box office and remains in the Top 10 for its second weekend in theaters.
Brandon Purdie, Executive Vice President, Global Theatrical Distribution at Angel Studios noted, "This project is resonating in an amazing fashion, with fans seeing the film in theaters multiple times, creating their own fan-networks, and overwhelming our team with merch orders."
THE SHIFT has struck a chord with viewers, who awarded the film a Rotten Tomatoes Audience Score of 87, with one viewer* saying, "This is a movie that sticks with you. I must say, I like a movie that doesn't give you all it has on the first date. You have to probe, you have to ponder."
With a plot referred to by Rebecca Cusey from Christianity Today** as "THE MATRIX meets IT'S A WONDERFUL LIFE," THE SHIFT is an independent sci-fi romance inspired by the book of Job. The film shares the story of Kevin, a man who travels across worlds to reunite with the love of his life, Molly. When a mysterious adversary known as The Benefactor threatens Kevin's survival and sends him to a dystopian reality, he fights to return to the world he knows and the woman he loves. Will hope and faith be enough to find his way back?
THE SHIFT stars Kristoffer Polaha (WONDER WOMAN 1984, JURASSIC WORLD DOMINION), Neal McDonough (MINORITY REPORT, Yellowstone), Sean Astin (LORD OF THE RINGS, Stranger Things), Liz Tabish (The Chosen), Rose Reid (SURPRISED BY OXFORD), and John Billingsley (Star Trek Enterprise, THE MAN FROM EARTH)
THE SHIFT is the debut film from writer/director Brock Heasley and was produced by Ken Carpenter (SURPRISED BY OXFORD, FINDING YOU) for Nook Entertainment.
