Kari Jobe and Cody Carnes Reflect on their Carnegie Hall Performance
Kari Jobe and her husband, Cody Carnes, were honored to perform at Carnegie Hall in New York City on February 25. The couple were joined by the True North Orchestra and Chorus for a performance of well-loved original songs, including "The Blessing," "I Am Not Alone," "First Love," "Revelation Song," and more.
Kari Jobe reflects, "What a sweet experience to have with each of you. I love you all dearly and love the beautiful things we all get to do together. I will never forget this one as long I live.
"You're all legends And a big thank you to the conductor Jeff Bumgardner and the True North Presents team, plus Tom Grassi and Bernie Herms for your beautiful arrangements. Thank you for making our Carnegie Hall dreams come true. You all are fantastic to work with and it was a joy to experience Carnegie with you!"
Cody cannot help but agree with his wife. "This night was one of my favorite moments ever leading worship. Obviously being in that historic room in NYC with an orchestra & choir is a lot of the reason.. but honestly, for whatever reason.. it was one of the strongest encounters with God I've ever had while leading worship. Such a sweet strong tangible sense of God's presence as we worshipped with voices and raised hands and "strings and loud clanging cymbals.." there was a lot of spiritual opposition until the moment we started and opened the word.. and then it was EASY! Like riding on a cloud..
"I loved stopping to read Psalm 150 & Revelation 5 at different moments of the night.. I loved singing legendary songs like How Great Thou Art & Our God Reigns in this historic space. Hearing our songs come to life in a new way with the orchestra and choir.. So many incredible moments.. I could go on & on..
"I heard that the staff was trying to keep people from standing throughout the night.. understandably so in that venue.. but judging by this video, by the time we got to the last few songs, they must've given up their efforts."
