Black Music Honors 2024 to Honor Johnny Gill, Patrice Rushen, Bootsy Collins and Hezekiah Walker
Chicago-based Central City Productions - a trailblazing African-American owned television programming, production, sales and distribution company - announces the 9th Annual Black Music Honors. The highly anticipated live taping will take place at the renowned Cobb Energy Performing Arts Centre in Atlanta, GA on Saturday, May 18th. The ceremony will be co-hosted by singer and actress LeToya Luckett alongside comedic actor DeRay Davis.
Black Music Honors is an annual event that celebrates the illustrious achievements and exceptional contributions of urban music. This year's lineup of honorees include Johnny Gill, Patrice Rushen, Bootsy Collins and Hezekiah Walker.
"For the past 9 years, Black Music Honors has surrounded and supported the amazing artists who have entertained millions. This year's celebrants are trailblazers and deserve to be honored. We are extremely proud to bring more visibility to these tremendous icons who have stayed the course from humble beginnings to careers that span decades. Their lives and stories are part of the beautiful tapestry of black music...which has impacted the globe," says Founder and Executive Producer Don Jackson.
A night of black excellence awaits at the 2024 Black Music Honors where exceptional performances, heartfelt speeches and timeless memories will be etched in the hearts of viewers. The televised special will premiere on the Stellar Network Saturday, June 1 at 8pm EST with a rebroadcast at 10pm EST and air in national broadcast syndication June 8 - June 30 in tribute to Black Music Month. The show will also air on Bounce TV Wednesday, June 19th (Juneteenth) at 9pm EST.

The 9th Annual Black Music Honors show is Executive Produced by Don Jackson with Jennifer J. Jackson serving as Producer and Executive in Charge of Production; Michael A.
