Long-time stuntman Alain Moussi, who is best known for his work on X-Men: Days of Future Past, Immortals, Pacific Rim, and White House Down, will play the lead role in the reboot of Kickboxer. He will portray 'Kurt Sloan,' the man who will travel to a remote location in Thailand to learn and master the ancient art of Muay Thai (Thai kickboxing) so that he can avenge the brutal killing of his brother 'David' at the hands of 'Tong Po' at an illegal martial arts tournament in Hong Kong.

Regarding the newest addition to the cast, The Exchange CEO Brian O'Shea said, "Kickboxer will display a style of acrobatic, rapid-fire martial arts action that Scott Adkins is increasingly becoming synonymous with. Along with Tony Jaa, Kickboxer has compiled a talented cast to push the boundaries of the martial arts form."

The film will be directed by Stephen Fu (Tai Chi Hero, Tai Chi Zero) based on a script by Jim McGrath and Dimitri Logothetis. It will be produced by Ted Field of Radar Films (Riddick, The Last Samurai), Dimitri Logothetis and Nick Celozzi while Mike Weber and Peter Meyer will executive produce. The Kickboxer remake will be shown in 3D.
